Joe Schwarte, a native of Chicago, attended art
school on the GI Bill and with the benefit of good mentors and a bit of luck,
designs and builds furniture for a living just outside Gays Mills.
Joe’s
furniture has been featured in Fine
Woodworking Design, at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New
York City, at “Around the Coyote” Arts Festival in Chicago, at the Fine
Furnishings Show in Milwaukee, at “Off the Square” in Madison (awarded “Best of
Wood), at the Lake Forest Art Expo, and most recently at the Sharon Lynne
Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
